Learns and performs intermediate and non-routine planning and scheduling assignments as assigned by Scheduling Manager. Scheduling Engineer will be required to learn proper application of scheduling principles and techniques. Prepares, monitors, and revises basic schedules, assists Scheduling Manager and Project Teams to formulate plans and to understand scheduling issues. Dedicates a significant amount of time to their training and learning scheduling techniques and basic scheduling responsibilities. In addition, performs duties as directed by Scheduling Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Support
- Learns and understand project scheduling to assist Project Teams
- Learns detailed critical path analysis to assist Project Teams when possible.
- Works closely with Project Teams, Building Performance Solutions and Estimating teams as needed.
Department Support
- Assists Scheduling manager in reviewing schedules for adherence to procedural and project requirements.
- Reviews, monitors, and ensures accuracy of all project schedules by direction of the Scheduling Manager.
- Assists and supports project teams on schedule challenges and reports findings to Scheduling Manager
- Works with Scheduling Manager to resolve scheduling issues.
Pursuits
- Assists pursuit team with initial use of schedule template.
- Works with Operations team in support of the creation of small-scale pursuit schedules.
- Provides support for Scheduling Manager in development of project schedules.
- Assists Scheduling Department with gathering data, resources, and information for schedule adjustments due to market and regional factors (weather, material, labor force, etc.).
Training and Procedure Development
- Assists with scheduling department training courses to educate associates through McCownGordon University and other appropriate channels.
- Assists in the maintenance and development of company procedures for scheduling as directed by the Scheduling Executive.
- Maintains working knowledge of all company schedule procedures related to construction and field operations.
- Assists Scheduling Department in developing and maintaining company procedures for scheduling.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements before going into job)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Some knowledge in construction scheduling preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of BIM applications, PM Management Software and Estimating software.
- Some knowledge of technology and systems, including MS Project, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and drawing management applications would be helpful.
- Knowledge in the use of P6 Primavera software is desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
